Vulcan Mind Meld? Sort Of

We all know the iconic four fingers on the face and chant "My mind, to your mind. Your thoughts, to my thoughts", other wise known as the Vulcan Mind Meld. Spock has used it numerous times to get the Enterprise and her crew out of immediate peril. Heck, he even used it to on Kim Catrall, but unfortunately her brain was empty. Apparently, scientists are now showing that good conversations can cause brain coupling and "may shed light on the mechanisms by which our brains interact and bind to form societies." Sounds like a Vulcan mind meld, right? Well, sort of.

VSS Enterprise Embarks On It's First Crewed Flight

Virgin Galactic's flagship vessel, aptly named Enterprise, embarked on it's first crewed flight July 15th. The ship remained attached to it's mothership VMS Eve for the duration of the 6hr 12min flight. Crew members Peter Siebold and Michael Alsbury evaluated all of the spaceship’s systems and functions from end to end in the air.

"KHAAAAAN! The Musical" Premiering At The Kansas City Fringe Fest

Thanks to our twitter buddy, Star Trek author Dayton Ward, we learned that "KHAAAAAN! The Musical" is making it's world premiere at the Kansas City Fringe Festival this month. According to Khan Noonien Singh himself, "My plans for world domination will be laid bare in a few weeks at the Kansas City Fringe Festival when Khan! the Musical debuts at the Off Center Theatre in Crown Center. That’s right, it’s a brand new musical all about me, written by Bryan Colley and Tara Varney. Khan! also features rockin’ original music by Tim Gillespie and Michelle Cotton."

CBS Studios Inc. has unveiled the brand new look and experience of the official Star Trek website, Startrek.com. We we're approached earlier this year to be featured on the "fan sites" portion of the site and gladly accepted. The new site is described as the end source for all things in the official Trek universe. To quote the launch press release: "If you read about something on StarTrek.com, it’s a fact. This is the official Star Trek site and when something runs on StarTrek.com you can rest assured that it’s official, not a rumor. "

"I Just Try To Follow... What Challenges Me" Says Chris Pine

Chris Pine admits that his role in J.J. Abrams's "Star Trek" has opened up many new opportunities for the young actor. "I've been really blessed from 'Star Trek' to get more opportunities than I had previously in my career." says Pine, 29 & Captain Kirk redeux in Star Trek XI. In an interview with the Orange County Register, Pine talks about his reasoning for picking certain roles and his upcoming part in "The Lieutenant of Inishmore" set to open July 11th at the Music Center downtown Los Angeles.

Wil Wheaton Hosting "Eureka" Episode At Comic-Con

San Diego Comic-Con is quickly approaching with enough panels & celebrity meet'n greets to choke an entire silo full of hungry tribbles. Well, it looks like one particular TNG alum will be the host of a showing of his own "Eureka" episode. Internet superstar & boy genius Wesley, uh, I mean Wil Wheaton is set to host the event July 23rd, the same night the episode airs on SyFy. Yeah, we hate the name change too.
